Great to see Apple today removing a virulently anti-gay iPhone app launched by Exodus International that promoted ‘curing’ gay people.
headspace, together with raft of organisations from the mental health community and beyond, knows that things like this are seriously harmful to the mental health and wellbeing of same sex attracted young people.
With responses of more than 3000 young people, La Trobe University’s Writing themselves in report by Lynne Hillier, clearly showed that discrimination perpetuates feelings of isolation and leads to poorer mental health outcomes.
Don’t think this is serious? Tell me why then that same sex attracted young people are three times more likely to take their own lives – six times more likely in regional areas.
